Hi Folks, This last Monday felt like Wednesday. It was one of those weekends. That said, I hit some major milestones this week and wanted to share. The Time of the Backroads. On Monday, on schedule, I delivered the manuscript for copy editing to the fabulous Joyce Mochrie. For a manuscript of this length, finishing at a little over 88.5K, I suspect it will take Joyce a couple of weeks to do her magic. That's okay, there's plenty to do in the meantime! Next up will be the cover for Backroads. I know where I want to take the shot for the front cover, and I have images of the coonhound (courtesy Ernie S!). I may have to wait just a bit for the leaves to begin changing color. (I'm predicting a colorful year for foliage.) Stay tuned here! The Last Coon Hunter, Fifth Anniversary, on audiobook. Last night, I finished the first pass through of the audiobook version. I'm simply in awe of Wayne Thompson's voice. (I was told by three people who listened to the audition tape that Wayne's interpretation of Jacob Ernst's character sounds like me. Go figure.) For the rest of the Ryland Creek saga, Wayne will have the right of first refusal. (He's already said there won't be any refusin' in his future for these books.) There were some changes needed (all very minor, often dealing with local pronunciations), which Wayne hopped on right away to fix. The next steps will be:
